Amendment of Clean Indoor Air Regulation Proposed

 

Keyser, WV, April 17, 2006—The Mineral County Board of Health is considering an amendment to the Clean Indoor Air Regulation in Mineral County.  This regulation would ban smoking in most places that are frequented by the public.  This includes 100% of restaurant seating, grocery stores, convenience stores, 75% of motel and hotel rooms, waiting rooms and other enclosed public places.  Written comments will be received by the Board for a thirty (30) day period beginning April 19, 2006 and ending May 18, 2006.  Comments must be in writing and mailed to the Mineral County Health Department at Rt. 3, Box 3045, Keyser, WV 26726.  No comments will be received by telephone or orally in person.  Copies of the proposed regulation can be obtained at the Mineral County Health Department during normal business hours Monday through Friday 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.  Copies for inspection will also be available at the County Clerk’s office in the Mineral County Courthouse, and also on the Mineral County Health Department website at www.mineralcountyhealthdepartment.com .

Permit Fee Increase

 

Keyser, WV, April 17, 2006— Please take notice that the WV Legislature, during the spring session, approved 64CSR30 Fees For Permits. The rule limits local boards of health to increase environmental health permit fees 25% annually until the new maximum is reached. On April 17, 2006, the Mineral County Board of Health approved the new fees, effective July 1, 2006. Permits issued on or after that date, including fixed date permits with renewal dates of July 1, will require the new fee in accordance with the Legislative limit of a 25% increase per annum. Establishments and activities affected include, but are not necessarily limited to: bed and breakfasts, mass gatherings, care facilities, schools, mobile food units, organized camps, recreational water facilities, retail food stores, temporary food establishments, vending machines, water wells, campgrounds, child care centers, food establishments, hotels/motels, onsite sewage systems, mobile home parks, and subdivisions. .  Written comments will be received by the Board for a thirty (30) day period beginning April 19, 2006 and ending May 18, 2006.  Comments must be in writing and mailed to the Mineral County Health Department at Rt. 3, Box 3045, Keyser, WV 26726.  No comments will be received by telephone or orally in person.  Copies of the proposed regulation can be obtained at the Mineral County Health Department during normal business hours Monday through Friday 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.  Copies for inspection will also be available at the County Clerk’s office in the Mineral County Courthouse, and also on the Mineral County Health Department website at www.mineralcountyhealthdepartment.com .
